Really think about brushing the BACK of the ball, and snap your wrist at contact. Sometimes people think that just because they are snaping their wrist they will get spin. You have to concentrate on seeing the ball and hit in on its backside.

make sure to keep your wrist nice and loose so you can really hit the ball with the amount of spin you need, try to use your legs also to give you power.

Don't hit through the ball as much, look at the picture at the bottom of this website:

Notice the angle at which the player is pulling the racquet towards the ball. The racquet on the right is going to hit mostly through the ball producing a very flat serve, while the racquet on the left is going to both go through AND across the ball. This is the key difference between a flat serve and a spin serve.

Distinguishing qualities of each spin serve (slice, topspin, and kick) are the angle across the ball you're moving the racquet. An easy way to think about it is like a clock: to create a kick or topspin hit across the ball in the direction of 1 or 2 O'Clock. To make it easier on your shoulder and back to achieve this, your ball toss should be over your head and you should try slightly leaning your body backward by bending at the knees. Ball toss is VERY important because if it isn't near or over your head, you will be forced to make contact with the ball at around 3 or 4 O'clock and it will be very difficult to create any significant topspin.

So remember these keys: position your toss correctly, bend at your knees, come across and through the ball at the correct angle, and practice practice practice! Good luck :D

You need to throw the ball behind your head a little bit, bend down (you get most of your power from your legs and brush up on the ball so it dips a lot

If you have a good flat serve, work on adding a little sidespin to it. It will get you by as a second serve for now while you develop your kick.

from my experience, u need to have a good bend so when u toss the ball behind u are able to hit the ball and brush it upwards. i have a habit of still pointing the ball with my left hand though it's behind me kind of. And try to keep your chin up until the last part of the serve. i hold my raquet in eastern grip. And stands as close as possible. I almost have my whole back facing the opponent when i serve my kick serve. I don't know if this is right or if this will help but this is just how i serve it
