View Full Version : Should I take it?

JMS

I have the oppurtunity to take a player package from Tecnifibre. At a discounted price I get 2 racquets, 12 pack bag, string, grips, shirts, stencil and ink, plus most of their porducts at a discounted price. Should I do it, I would have to keep their stencil on my strings and I have to use their strings.

Do it. If you like their racquets, why not? If you haven't tried any of their racquets out previous, just demo them and decide.

I think it's a great idea to take it. I took a sponsorship similar to this (not with Technifibre) when I was 12 (I'm 16 now) and as my results got better so did my sponsorship.

Well if your in champs you'll probably have a good chance of getting it since it didn't really ask what your sectional ranking was or anything in the application.

ayyhwang

Fully sponsored or preferred player? For Prince you have to be top 20 in nation to get fully sponsored. What's your name and age group?

nyc
06-30-2007, 06:49 AM
Personally I think they make some of the finest racquets today and are often overlooked as they don't have the massive budgets like Wilson or Prince to sponsor top players. Try a search on these boards and you'll see a lot of love for their racquets. I would suggest trying the 335 and the 320's both in open string patterns.

Their strings are top notch.

Most companies have these kinds of deals. For example Wilson has one called the college player package or something like that. If you contact any company they should tell you about their program. All the string companies do it too. You just have to talk to the right people. Most of these programs are used by college programs; the player gets the deal and the team buys the stuff. In most of these packages you get three racquets, a bag, and some clothing for like $300.

The tecni fibre raquets kick ass. Great control on the serve and great spin from the baseline, also great feel from the net. String it tight. Plays similar to the Head Prestige i found.

Babolat used to have a college package where you got a bag, 3 rackets (Pure Drives), some string, and a shirt for right around $300. I took advantage of this as player/coach back in 2000-01.
Very nice deal at the time but not sure what they require now. i know some local juniors have some sort of Babolat sponsorship, although one recently got dropped and switch to a partial with Prince.
