As I was watching Andy Roddick I started to wonder- how many time will Roddick acutally use a given racquet? How many sets/ matches will it see?

Anyone know?

I think Roddick follows Federers approach and switches at every ball change.

I apologize for my ghetto grammar in the title of this thread.

Yes, but I think OP is asking what is the lifetime of a particular racquet.

I get the ball change thing but when does a racquet die and not get used again?

Oh, well in that case, Roddick gets 15 new racquets 4 times a year. By the time he switches to the new batch, he'll have 12-13 because he'll have smashed 2-3 out of anger.

What about Fed? He seems like he'd never smash a stick.

Most pros get a new batch 2-4 times a year, unless they are very superstitious.

So what happens to them old sticks once a batch arrives??? Do they just sit in the garage?

I don't know about all of them... Federer has mentioned selling a few of his unused racquets on his website for charity before. I guess that still leaves a lot of them unaccounted for.
