i'm pretty sure satellite is about 4.0 level players so not much to worry about.

Nice, I live in Corona so that's pretty close to me. Hope you do well in it, I would just play your best and don't just let yourself down if you find out you're playing a 5.0 player or something.

It all depends. You get reallly bad players and there are a few really good ones. Just hope you get a good draw.

=] I'm playing in one next next week (July 9th Northridge), and I know many people that would play. They're 3.0-4.5 level. =S But this is CA.

JWNorth, assuming you're a HS player at North, you'll be fine. Actually, it's about time you signed up for a tournament. My kid played that tournament a couple of times. The pro (Vorhees) is a nice guy and it seems like all the kids have a good time. FYI, scta junior tournaments are novice< satellite<open. If it's not clear then it's probably an open. I don't think they have novice at your age so satellite is the appropriate place to start.

PS- Poly rules! (or, at least it did 25 years ago when I graduated : )

lol we dominated poly when we came over to your guyses school. King is the really good team now in our division, don't know if they were still good 25 years ago. So is it more of a fun environment than more competitive in that tournament?

I guess times change-King didn't exist 25 years ago. Poly had Reggie and Cheryl Miller, Sippy Woodhead in swimming, and was winning CIF championships in football. Other schools (North, Ramona, Arlington[brand new then]) were relegated to the "Ivy" league, while Poly was Citrus Belt league (big time).

I didn't mean the tournament wasn't competitive, there will be good satellite level players there. It's just a smaller draw, and more relaxed atmosphere than the typical socal junior open scene. Good luck!

Hey, sorry, I was off topic, and I should have at least given some advice. I haven't played many tourneys, but I think you just need to be consistent, but still hit with authority. But don't get tight and try to be too consistent. Use full strokes, and place balls well.

Good luck!

Btw, I'm probably not as good as you are, so if what I said seems really beginner-ish, just ignore this post :).
