I'm looking to start playing as many tournaments as possible for the experience, so for those that are USTA members (probably everybody lol), so you get a calendar or reminder about upcoming and nearby tourneys? And I saw something on the site about ordering a replacement card. Since I just joined, do they send you a card in the mail or something? In the signup process they never mentioned it...

You'll get a membership card in the mail, but you won't really need it aside from your USTA # on it. In the past the tournament directors would check the players' cards at check-in to make sure they are current members, but since almost everyone signs up online for tournaments nowadays, they usually don't bother to check.

You'll also get a tournament calendar in the mail but most people just search through the online tournament calenders that each USTA section has online. It's very easy to see which tournaments are coming up, when the deadlines are, what divisions they will have, who is already signed up, etc.
