Roddick's PD+ is weighted up from stock 11.1 oz to almost 11.5 oz. Adding 11 grams of lead tape distributed at 3' 9' and 12' o'clock. So if you want to customize your's add 8 inches lead at 12 o'clock, and 7 inches at 3' and 7 at 9'. This is using Lead Tape that is 1in.=1/2 gram, so for other lead tape alter your amounts of lead. Roddick's string tension im pretty sure is 66 lbs. or 30 kp.
His racquet is very head heavy as a result and its hard for the everyday player to generate the same racquet speed, so my suggestion to you is to increase slowly in weight.
Have fun and let me know when you hit 150!

Hello,

What is the total weight of the racket in grams after the addition of lead tape?

Thanks

You got the weight wrong. And you're off mark with the lead placement too but I guess you got the racquet right.

Tension has been discussed here before -- low 60s.

Both my Aussie Open and Wimbledon stringing logs say 73 lbs.

Andy Roddick's tension of his strings is definitely 66 lbs. I've read this from a Professional Stringer in NY and Tennis Wizard. I've also read that Andy Roddick's racket weighs around 60 grams total weight after lead, strings, and grip are on. Tennis Wizard is a good source of information if you cant find information on the forums here. :D

Thanks

Umm I'm really not sure on his string tension but 66-73 is in the right range. and "I've also read that Andy Roddick's racket weighs around 60 grams total weight after lead, strings, and grip are on. " SJGD7, 60 grams is about 2 oz, the stock PD+ is 11.1oz.

Im new to adding lead to racquets and am curious to try this set up. I have lead tape however its 1 inch equals 1/4 gram as opposed to one inch eualing 1/2 gram. Also when you say add seven inches do you mean just one slab of seven inch lead at 3 or two slabs of seven inch lead at 3 meaning one on each side of the grommet. IM confused.

his rackets are strung at different tensions depending on surface and temperature, between 62-65, mostly 63

how can his racket weigh 60 grams.. that would be stupid.. how would you be able to use it at all, even the ball probably weighs more than that as it comes through the air.

To give perspective, badminton rackets are around 80 grams.
