Today I got the sad news that my mom was killed in a car wreck, she was quite a lady, originally from Trinidad where my dad met her when he was stationed there during WWII, she was a famous childhood dancer in the islands and even did a few off bdwy plays when they moved to NY after the war.
So mom - so long, you were the greatest..... thanks for letting me rant.

Geezh, Bluegrasser, my sincere condolences. It's a sober moment for you, I'm sure.
I lost my mother last December. She was 86. Still had mother's milk in her mouth. :)

She was a feisty 80 yr old, independent as they come - you'd never guess she was eighty. She was hit by a commercial truck as she was turning onto the hwy, she never knew what hit her, damn i'm going to miss her.

That's a tough one-bad enough to lose a loved one under any circumstances, but especially tough to lose them in an unexpected instant, without a chance to say goodbye. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about your loss, bluegrasser.
My sincerest condolences.
Aren't you from MN? When I first read your OP, I thought maybe your mom was involved in that bridge collapse.
I know it must be hard right now but try and keep your spirits up.

Don't know what else to say only that I'm sorry too, my sympathies.
I feel bad for your loss, Bluegrasser, but you know it sounds like she went on to a far better place. (I've got to add that I kind of relate to you a bit since I play bluegrass and spent a year in Minnesota, too).
