I'm finally actually able to serve with doing a dink. I first started out by standing at the baseline and doing an overhead throw into the service box to see how it actually should feel when I hit with my racquect.(Throwing causes me to do the thumbs down thing and natural wrist snap I've been reading about here). So I grabbed my racquet and put myself to the test. First few hits I was hitting to the baseline like my old serves, but then I got it the service box while practicing the trophy position. To my amazement I actually had a decent serve, not much pace but I was able to also hit the ball to where I wanted to to an extent. Man I'm so happy right now, I can't wait to go play by myself again tomorrow :D.

uh you may want to edit the first line unless dink serving is what you were trying to do :-D

It's supposed to be WITHOUT doing a dink serve.

did you change any aspect of your serving technique?

I did a total revamp of my serve, I never used my knees before so that was a change and I actually did a swing at the ball with a real toss lol

that is a problem fixed recently as well, and now my serve is a HUGE weapon when i execute my technique

do training serves with trainer balls and competition balls make a difference?
i notice i could serve well wif trainers, but not wif competition balls...
does that mean i need to spend more money on competition balls to train my serves now?

I use my legs on my serve, and It thrust my arm forward like a sling shot, so much so I hardly even feel my arm. I just started really doing this recently. I try and copy Sampras. I bring my arm way down, and my legs throw it right back up. I'm still trying to learn the whole do I use wrist snap or not, and pronation blah blah. I heard from John Yucom(cant spell his name) famous tennis player tell this guy to use his wrist to get the ball down into the court. So I really don't know yet.
