Is a person who is described as being a grinder (as in grinding points out) considered a CP or a pusher?

Oh, also, is Nadal considered a CPer? If not, what is he? Spin doctor?

its all kind of a gray area, all of them fall under the defensive category, but pushers tend to have NO pace or topspin and get everythin back without much more strategy than put it in the middle of the court. counter punchers have a hard time generating their own pace but feed off of their opponents pace. grinders I would say is a more advanced form of pushing (though perfectly respectable) using lots of topspin and consistency to wear down their opponent

Grinders have a similar game to pushers but have better strokes. Most grinders hit heavy topspin while pushers....push.

A pusher is a grinder. A grinder is not necessarily a pusher.

He is an aggressive counter-puncher.

A pusher is a low level grinder. A high level grinder will be able to hit with spin and control and decent pace but won't take huge risks and go for many winners but will just rally and rally and wear the opponent out physically and mentally.

Umm, funny, but doesn't exactly contribute to this thread. What do you think Nadal is?

A grinder doesn't beat himself. If you watched the PGA Golf tournament this past weekend, Tiger was called a grinder. He had the lead, and wasn't going to make any dumb mistakes...

A grinder keeps on grinding until they wear u out. There are so many ways u can grind. For example, u can grind their fitness. Make them run back and forth the entire match. A grinder won't give up even if the strategy is not working, because he expects it to work. At the end of the match, the grinder will win easily cause the guy ran out of gas.

Nadal served 80% of his second serves to Fed's bh. You can say Fed is getting grooved because of all the practice and predictability. But at the same time, Fed is more likely to make mistakes at the end of the match when he is tired. That's because Nadal puts a lot of spin that makes the ball kick up high to his bh which is very uncomfortable to return.
