Might wanna change the title to "WTF"... I just looked up their racquets. What a joke. This is absolutely ____________.

A. Ludicrous
B. Ridiculous
C. Farcical
D. All of the above

Do you expect that a regular joe (or jane) would actually buy the racket?

.....and if they did they would play with it?

It's a collectible and it's marketed to be that way.

The Williams sisters, according to pundits and the sisters themselves, are
"getting tennis out of the country club and bringing the sport to a new, more street, less affluent audience. They show that you don't need to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth to succeed in tennis". Yet, here they are endorsing a racquet that can only be purchased by someone with considerably more money than sense. That a donation is made to breast cancer research is incredibly condescending. If Wilson, or the endorsees, cared at all they should just donate a lump sum instead of turning a worthy cause into a marketing tool (same goes for any of the other manufacturers).

Wouldn't you call this gold stuff, "bling"?

08-17-2007, 07:04 PM

I think the white one looks pretty good. I remember a short while back there was an early version (perhaps limited edition) of the new Boris Becker racquet for sale at a steep price and people were willing to pay for it.
