For some reason, I have seen commentators call David Ferrer as Daaavid Ferrer and David Nalbandian as Daaavid Nalbandian - pay more attention to Daaavid.
If that's the case, why do they pronunce Beckham's name as David Beckham. It should be Daaavid Beckham.
Any thoughts? This topic didn't fit in any other forum so I opted here.

The reason is very simple. Both Ferrer and Nalbandian are native Spanish speakers. Their name in Spanish is pronounced "Daavid" and have requested that their name be pronounced as such.
