Do poly fray in the cross during the stringing process?

Poly is constructed as a monofilament with no wraps, so fraying a poly is virtually impossible.

Instead of fraying, poly notches. After playing with poly for a while you can lift up on the mains and see the notches. One neat thing about poly is you can view the racquet from the top down, see how deep the crosses are digging into the mains and then determine approx. when they're going to break.

What about that mutlifilament polyester, Tecnifibre Promix? Does that fray?

I belive it would but it would take a very hard hitter to do that because the wrapes on multi poly's are usually quite thick.
