A few of my personal favourites...

It is illegal to cry on the witness stand in Los Angeles.

Unmarried women who parachute on Sundays may be jailed.

Boxes of candy given as romantic gifts must weigh more than 50 pounds.

State law forbids any establishment from charging admission to see a one-armed piano player.

It is considered simple assault to bite someone in New Orleans, but it is aggravated assault if the biter has false teeth.

Every citizen is obliged to carry his gun to church.

It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.

In Texas, it is illegal for children to have unusual haircuts.

Also in Texas, a recently passed anti-crime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and explain the nature of the crime about to be committed.

In Vermont, women must obtain written permission from their husbands to wear false teeth.

Also in Vermont, it is illegal to deny the existence of God.

In Seattle, it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon longer than 6 feet.

In Memphis, it is illegal for a woman to drive by herself, unless a man is walking or running in front of the vehicle, waving a red flag in order to warn approaching pedestrians and motorists.

In Gurnee, it is illegal for women weighing more than 200 pounds to ride horses in shorts.
Monkeys are forbidden to smoke cigarettes in South Bend.
In Natoma, it is illegal to throw a knife at any one wearing a striped shirt. (this implies that it is legal if they are not wearing striped shirts, haha!)

Not to be a party pooper or anything, but what makes you think these are real?

By these I'm talking about the link in the first post.

Just because they're found on a few sites and forums does not make them "laws"....

The ones from the UK are from the Times newspaper in London so I would have thought they would have checked. Good point though

If there are any REALLY good ones, I can either go to my dad's office or ask him to look them up because he's a lawyer and would have access to the resources.

I like the longbow one, is that actually true?

Apparently so. There are quite a few longbow ones in the UK, was all to do with having a good supply of archers. There are lots to do with shooting either Scots or Welsh people after dark within city limits. Apparently fine if you use a longbow, bad if you use a crossbow (???)

In Texas, it is illegal for children to have unusual haircuts.

I should've been arrested 14 years ago then, when I had my football helmet/bowl cut.
