View Full Version : Why I'm leaving this forum
Sampragassi

I've been a loyal contributer to TW forums for nigh on 5 years - yep thats right folks, 5 years!
But now I am forced to leave. As one of the neurologically-impaired I suffer from sensory overload from this new board design. As a result I get disoreinted. Its just no fun when this happens.
Anyway I just wanted to say its been fun, and thanks for sharing your love of the beatiful game with me. Perhaps we'll meet someday in that big tennis court in the sky. Or perhaps not.
Adieu,
See you anon.

Don't leave Tiger. Give this new board a chance. I too hated it at first but after a few days use I'm quite used to it now. Do give it another shot before leaving. (PS- try the subBlack board style and you may change you mind!)

The Old TW board was unique, but things change. As long as you let the changes get to you, then it's hopeless. Just roll with it Tim, roll with it.
And yes, I use subBlack and it's better than the stock gray that kills eyes.

Tiger--Please dont leave. I almost made a post like this and left (I have bad ADD I think and cant concentrate well with millions of icons floating and blinking). You have been a valuable contributor and you should stick around. I probably hated the board more than anyone and Im getting used to it, although they need to improve a lot of things. They seem to be trying, definately check out the diff. skin colors.
Hey, your main man won today against Fed. Thats an omen to stay on the boards.

Wait, Tim Tiger HENMAN!!! NOOO, please, I don't like it much either, but I gonna adapt just so I can love the tennis talk. You have to stay, at least for the pro player section....

As much as I dislike the new format (and I do), you gotta give them more than 2 days to improve it.

OK guys. Thanks for all the kind words. And not a single character assassination, not a single sarchastic comment, and not one reference to my alleged sexual orientation whatsoever. What gives? Are you guys going soft or something? Where am I supposed to go now to get insulted?
BTW the new system doesn't allow speechmarks in usernames so tim "tiger" henman has become Tim Tiger Henman. It kinda takes the irony out of the name which was the whole point of it in the first place. Anyways I will stick around for a while and see if things improve, or I just give up and get used to mediocrity.
Here's hoping that the quality of the posts doesn't go down too much now that we are in la-la-land and no longer in kansas.

Easy, Larry. Tyger Tim........don't leave, try the redice? format........much easier to read me thinks. This new format ain't so bad, dude......you will adjust. Also, are you ever going to win Wimbledon?

Larry?
Let me just say this - an Englishman will finally win the mens singles at Wimbledon this year. He will hail from Brighton.
Trust me on this one - it will happen, though not necessarily the way you expect!

Don't do it Tim, we love you man!!!! The heavy users of the old board gotta stick together, it's a scaaaaary world out there! Tim Henman beat Federer for all the Tiger Tim's in the world to step up and not take any $hit from anyone! Come back to the light Tim!

Giving the new board another chance might also give you an opportunity to re-evaluate your life, so that a format change on an internet discussion board won't send you spiraling into depression. Maybe you and Shaolin could get a group discount on counseling.
Just an idea.

If it'll make you feel better, you're a jerk!
I'm just kidding, of course. I agree with the other posters. Maybe try some polarized sunglasses or something! Stick around. Tim defeated Federer! Things are looking up!
The order of the day...STICK IT OUT!

Every time I try to walk away, I try to give it up, but you just keep on dragging me back in.
Maybe try some polarized sunglasses or something!
8) Hey dude - its looking better already!

Whoa - reality check. Thanks David I needed that.

Personally, I think you should stay around and suffer through this new board as I am attempting to do. I can't even get my regular screen name back for some reason. I always went by my name (Steve Huff). Now, I had to think of some stupid, catchy name to go by. I think you will get over this. Just my opinion. I'm no doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

Tiger, the new board is great. I'm hoping it will motivate you to dump the Tiger Tim thing!!!! Come on, he's no tiger. Don't associate yourself with someone like him. Move on with your new life without Timmy the loser.

Steve - are you sure you didn't get an E mail from TW telling you that they've entered your regular screen name and a NEW password into the new boards? You might want to send them an E mail asking them about this. I and many others received E mails from TW telling us of this. You've certainly been around the board long enough to be sent the same consideration.
If, after asking TW, you still can't get your old screen name back, try 'Huff', or something that relates to your name. It would be good if we could retain the continuity insofar as screen names are concerned. Many of us have come to 'know' each other by our screen names, and it makes it more difficult to identify people if they change their screen names.
If you MUST change it - perhaps you could write your name in the box in your 'Profile' so that it appears at the bottom of each of your posts (like my quote in red) - for a little while, anyway, just until we get used to the change.

No way! I've always wanted to stay in a Holiday Inn Express. Maybe one day when I've saved up enough money. Then maybe I'll get those 2 prized initials after my name.

I actually did finally dump the unfortunate moniker, only I was forced to revert by public pressure (see e.g. Deuce's post). I can't even get the speechmarks in "Tiger", which takes the irony out of the name. Thats the problem with a screen name - once you choose one you are stuck with it ....

Wow,
Disorientated by a message board! How do you go when you play someone new on the court?

And this MB is the way most MB's are. Very common. So many of us are used to it. The old one had it's charm, so to speak, but this one is much cooler, and much more up to date.
A site as cool as TennisWarehouse really needed to make this update, IMHO.

Oh yeah, like we want your gay butt around here anyway
 just kidding dude, stay around and see if you like it in the next week or so. It does take some time to get used to. I've been to a lot of other forums though, and almost all are set up like this; so I guess I just got used to it.

I always thought he would come back. But, after a while, I was tired of hoping, tired of waiting. Now I just kind of live with it. And yes, some days are harder than others. Some days nothing helps the pain.
(Tonight I plan to go to the new Harry Potter film. If you see me in a far-away corner of the theater sobbing quietly into my popcorn, you'll know why)

The quality of posts has been going up every day. One day you will come back and realise how many quality posts you missed while you were gone.
I remember when I first started posting here. He kind of took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. It's funny, though, he never asked for anything in return; he just wanted me to pay it forward, you know, make my own contribution, help someone else. I do what I can, and I'm grateful to him for teaching me how to "let go" and trust other people.
