I just got two of my rackets restrung with a stringer I never used before. My question is when my rackets were originally strung by TW there were only two knots where the strings were tied off. When I got the rackets re-strung there were four knots where the strings were tied off. Does this make a diffeence or effect the string in anyway. The rackets were strung with NXT Tour 17. Thanks

The original stringing was one piece = two knots. The new string job was two piece = four knots. In theory no difference if the string and tension were the same between the two jobs.

Does it matter where they are tied off ?

Yes. You can look up the stringing pattern for your racquet here and confirm that it's strung and tied correctly:

Thanks for your reply. But I am a liitle lost. What does 8H,5H, and 7T mean regarding strings ? Thanks again

that tells you which holes to skip when stringing the main strings. you start from the middle and count up from each side. the "T" refers the throat and the "H"refers to the head. So when it says for example, "7H,7T, 9H, 9T" you skip the 7th and 9th hole on each side on the bottom(throat) and the top(head) of the racquet.

hope this helps and isnt too confusing.

H = Head
T = Throat

The numbers are counted starting between the two main strings. Just count the grommets and you will reach what number you are looking for.

For example, lets say you are looking for 5H. So... go to the head of your racquet and start counting in the middle. Reach the 5th grommet (doesn't matter which side unless if it is specifically saying that there is a short side) and thats where its at.

H is head, T is throat. Starting at the center of the head or throat, count the grommets outward from center. Example: 7T means start at the center of the throat and count outwards from there / clockwise or counter-clockwise 7 holes.

Oops, I was slow on the keys!

Also, be aware that the manufacturer's specs may be refering to either skipped holes for the mains or crosses or to tie-off holes. They'll specify which ie. skip 7H or tie-off 11T etc....
