Wow. From hammer to pure drive. Big jump.

PD

Comfort: Super Soft String(Nat Gut, Multi)
Low Tension(50's)
Synthetic grip recommended and possibly overgrip
Possibly counter weight with lead in handle.

Power: Soft-Semi Stiff String(Synthetic gut, co-poly)
Low Tension
Any Grip
Any Overgrip
Experiment with lead in hoop

Control- Stiff-Super Stiff (Poly)
Low-Mid Tension
Any Grip
Any Overgrip

Of course you can hybrid string also if you want to go in between.

I don't know what specifically would work for you, but I can tell you what I go with, even though I use the PD+ and not the PD.

Lead: 8g on handle, 4g on head
String: Gamma Ruff 16
Tension: 63 lbs
Overgrip: Tournagrip
Playing Style: Baseline Spinner

I don't know if you play with a lot of spin and/or bash it from the baseline, but if you do, this setup might help. . .

You should experiment with lead until you find YOUR perfect setup....
