i use a 2hb and i think that it is much better than my forehand (more consistent, depth, etc). I heard that a backhand should mostly use your left hand, so should i have been trying to figure out what my left hand does when i hit a backhand. SHould i try to use the same technique i use on my backhand for my forehand as well, just without the second hand (i use 1h forehand). The only difference is my right hand will do what my left hand does for a backhand.

For your 2hbh, your left arm should move as if it were doing a left handed forehand.

i dont think yuo wil get more consistency with your fh by mimicking your bh.
but i think you wil have more winners with the fh than bh esp at beginner and intermediate stages. possibly more errors too.

there are some threads where the action has been discucssed in detail, the C and U.

it seems the bh is more of a U or smile, with little or no lateral movement, the fh more like a C with lateral (across the shoulder) movement.
have a look at that thread first. see what "tricky" explained.

(i do notice while looking at clips of Henin and Gasquet that there is lateral movement, wrapping round. i refer to 1hbh here).
