A hex string in a cross does nothing for spin. Hex in mains accentuate spin. Being thinner is what you will get, but as a cross you will get no extra benefits from the hexagonal shape.

that's what I noticed also.

Something else I noticed, is that when you put hex in mains and crosses they saw into each other much faster destroying the edges.

Hex crosses do nothing as pointed out above. If you are looking for a load of spin, just do a full job Blue Gear 1.25

but do you notice any difference between a blue gear cross or a normal poly cross?

No, the difference would be none.

IMO . . .

A thin cross does nothing more than saw the mains faster.
