Has anyone ever tried this hybrid combo?

My local racquet club doesn't have a lot of choices: mostly Prince and Wilson strings. (I wish they had Gosen, Topspin, and Luxilon, etc. But almost everyone else there seems happy with Sensation or Duraflex.?!)

Based on what I've read on here, this hybrid should give a crisp feel (PSGD) and softer shock absorption (PSGM).

What do you think?

There's such a thing as lowering the tension significantly--say as much as five lbs.--on the PSGD crosses, seeing how that feels. However, I would boost the main string tension first by roughly three lbs.

I haven't tried that set up, but the PSGM will also give you a good amount of power. String the set up 3-5 lbs tighter to have a better ball feel.

VJ,

Are you suggesting I put the PSGD on the crosses at 57 lbs., and the PSGM on the mains at 60lbs?

(I was planning on the crisper strings on the mains.?)
