Return of serve

I'm starting to get more confident with my returns of serve. I used to have so much trouble with the backhand in general with inconsistency--but now I am able to hit (depending on the serve) returns down the line, crosscourt, etc. :D I think it all started by me gaining confidence after developing a reliable 2nd serve (kick serve). Everything else is starting to improve now.

Just thought I'd make this picture sequence from a short clip I took last night:

check out how much air that guy gets on his serve!!! He is pretty overweight too.....no offense to him (I am too) :(

I hit the backhand return cross-court from the deuce court and he hit the next shot out. the last screen I included for the heck of it..weird surfer pose there..

hm i guess the serves were coming a bit slow because it seems to me that you are taking big cuts on those strokes.

why not just open in Quicktime and Save As Movie Sequence.

don't you have to buy the full version of Quicktime? I saw the Export as...function, but it was all greyed out.

gah--I had a bad day at tennis yesterday. I might have screwed up my game for the night by trying to use the i.Prestige MID XL for a set or so...it wasn't pretty :x

sorry, i do have a licensed version.

But still the export as movie sequence is a wonderful utility since it makes about 40 or 50 jpegs out of one 5-10 second serve mov file. Good for studying frame by frame.

man...my returns and backhands especially have improved quite a bit now that I'm using an OS Radical. Should never have left oversize. It enables me to stay in rallies longer...although I can't go for the lines/corners as well.

Your backhand return is way too close to your body. Good forward momentum, though. You have learned to use the pace of the serve, which is smart.

Your forehand return looks solid.
