Hello,
I purchased the old counter strike game, not the new condition zero and not the new half life 2. I bought the old one- it's in a black and yellow box. It's this one- http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=644096 . The game tells me to update because I have a 1.0.0.0 version. My friend said I need 1.6 Steam. I don't know where I can download the new patch to play the game. I tried multiplayer online but it didn't work because I had an old version, they told me to download the new patch. Anyways, what is a Steam? Where do I download to get my update so I can play multiplayer online? I'm scared to download some things because I heard that some people can steal my CD-Key.
Thanks in advance.

You need Steam, get it at steampowered.com, give the cd key to steam and it will take care of the updates for you. Which are quite a lot.

But, wow, this is a tennis forum.

Steam is kind of like an alternate program that installs CounterStrike onto your computer so you don't need the CD. Then from there, Steam launches CounterStrike; it's like a hub for games or something of the sort. The download of Steam is free and when you try to run an outdated version of CounterStrike it'll start downloading the newest version 1.6 and after that's done, you're good to go.

Is CS for xbox any good. Or is the game only good when playing online?
