I am a member of the PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) who has an affiliation with HEAD. Earlier in the year I was selected to be a Team HEAD member which among other things entitles me to a couple of free frames, a racquet bag, and a stencil. I also at one time worked in a tennis retail shop. The one constant that I have found to be true with HEAD both as a tennis retail specialist and now as a teaching pro is that they take FOREVER to get merchandise out to you and that they seem to always be backordered!!!! I submitted my Team HEAD application at the end of Jan., and was originally told it would take 3-4 weeks to receive my "package." Then I was told it would be the first of April. Then I was told it would be April 15th. That was four days ago and I just learned that my shipment hasn't even left the warehouse!!!! During my time in the world of tennis retail, it was common knowledge that HEAD was the worst in terms of getting shipments of merchandise to their various retail outlets or replacing merchandise for customers when necessary. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I realize that a backorder indicates that HEAD is selling so many of a particular racquet that they simply can't meet the demand which is great for HEAD and even understandable part of the time. But it seems that HEAD has set a trend for regularly not having enough of their most popular racquets in stock and it appears that a little foresight may be in order!!!!
