Hey I was wondering if anyone played any other sports besides tennis. I play basketball, and I find that it keeps me in shape and my footwork up.

I play basketball in the winter, because indoor tennis facilities are so expensive. Also I used to play baseball, but gave it up for tennis since they are both in spring.

Not to brag, but I'm a really good basketball player. I made my middle school team, but never tried out for JV, because it would conflict with tennis, so I just play REC ball. I am pretty short, so I always played 1 and 2. Better not leave me open for a three, lol. J/K... but not really... okay J/K

yea last season i was like 5' 1" so i played 1
but i was the best 1-3 on my team so i had to score a lot (our center is amazing so im not the best ;)). my three best skills (in this order) are shooting, passing, and dribbling. but again i dont play seriously anymore because i dont have the body for it...

My best think is my shot, and I can drive by people pretty easily, never was a great defender though.

I play basketball as my favorite/best sport and tennis second. Thankfully, they won't get in the way of each sports schedule when I go tryout next year. I'm 13 and 5'7" so I'm probably going for an athletic center or power forward, kinda like a Yi Jianlian or Yao Ming.

I've played softball for about eight years. Going from swinging a bat to swinging a racquet has been really hard. I still have the tendency to swing like I would when I'm playing softball, which is exactly how you shouldn't swing your racquet.

into my then existing Marine Corps Career.

I play basketball also. I was swinging for our team as a sophmore last year when we won state. I grew up playing guard, because I was always short and quick, but I grew to like 6'2" so now I have a big advantage over most guards. I can throw down too, but only reverses and tomahawks, can't do a 360 or anything like that.

i used to play football and my coach was really stupid. I was like 5'1 and weight like eighty pounds and he put me in at defensive tackle and so i never really liked it but tennis is my game

Cross-training in sports is the way to excellence. Understanding yourself physically, and mentally will give you a better handle on things to come, or not to come. Ty Ana Williams cross trains with three disicplines; Tennis, Golf, and Track & Field. All to a level of excellence. Cross-train and you can't go wrong.

i run cross country too. i feel like it gets me in awesome shape. as a freshman, this is my first year, and i loved it and continue to run 25 miles a week even after the season. Its comforting to know that I can last a 3-setter w/o letting up. Just curious, whats your 5k time?

From 9-11th grade I played Tennis, Football, and Baseball. I did HS Tennis/HS Baseball in the same season, and Football / Tournament Tennis in the same season. Was too much on my arm though, because I was a QB in football and I am a pitcher in Baseball.

water polo is incredible conditioning, and it seems like a lot of fun too.
