I really liked barricade 2s, but mine are starting to get worn out and old (I've had them for almost a year). They are really heavy but I like that they were so durable, I'd normally go through non-name brand tennis shoes in a month or two, so lasting a year was amazing.

Ideally I'd like to spend about $100, are there any new options outside of the barricade line up that are equally durable that I should look into more. I like the way Nikes look a lot more than adidas, however I'd tear through them too quickly and they tend to be overpriced.

Are the new Babolat Proposel (sic?) any good, I'm a big fan of babolat equipment, I find it to be pretty high quality but I've never used their shoes.

If you like the B-II's, you might like the Yonex 305's

The Babolat Propulse is a good shoe, and pretty durable, but definitely a harder/less cushioned ride than the Barricades. If you get it, be careful with sizing as it runs VERY small. I wear at least a half size larger in Babolat than adidas. Also, it's almost an ounce heavier than your old Barricade 2's (although it's lighter than the 4's). They do still make the Barricade 2's, so you can get that. Or you can wait till January and get the new Barricade 5's, which will be similar to the Barricade 4's, but noticeably lighter.

I wore Barricade 2s for years, until the tongue started hurting my feet. (I don't know if the shoe changed or my foot changed ...)

I have switched to Asics, and I love them. They are similar, but not quite as clunky. Very comfy. I have Gel Resolutions and Gel Enqvist Pluses.

That's a good shoe right there. Feels low to the ground, very supportive, and excellent cushion. Also quite durable.

BI's vs BII's? i've been in love with my BII's forever. Any opinions on this? The BI's weight is tempting but what am I losing out on?

There are devotees of each. Personally, I find the fit of the I's to be much poorer (less glovelike) than that of the II's. More straight and less contoured. The II's also seem a bit better on support and cushioning. That said, the I's are still better than many shoes on the market. If you love the II's, I'm not sure you'll be as excited about the I's, but you can try. Or you can wait for the V's in January.

I know you go through Nike like water, but the Nike Max Breathe Free II are pretty durable, and comfortable. :)

I've used all the barricades. For me the B1's are the best. Nice and light and fits my foot better than the rest of the line up.

The best shoe I have ever owned is the K-Swiss Defier. I tried switching to the Barricade 2's, but one spot dug into the top of my foot and wasn't comfortable.

I tried the Babolats once, because I liked the look, but didn't find them to be as stable and cushioned as the Defier, thought I liked the light weight.

The Defiers have a nice classic look, excellent cushioning, good durability, and great stability/ankle support. If you like the Barricade 2's, give the Defier a try...they are somewhat similar, but more comfortable right out of the box. Plus you can't beat the price (about $75.00), and they are a high quality, well built shoe.

I like all Nike shoes. They are/will always be better than Adidas.
