Which one do you like better, nike breathe cage, or the nike breathe free II, and for what reasons?

I have yet to try the Cages, but I have to agree also with the comfort of the Breath II. I don't think I would change unless forced. :)

The Cages are a little more durable, more stable, and easier to put on, but the BFII's are a little more comfortable. I went with the Cages.

i liked the breathe 2's better because they have a softer shell than the cages. the cages end up giving me hotspots during long matches or in the heat.

Breathe Free II's. Lighter, more comfortable, cheaper, just as durable, and have the 6 month durability guarantee.

The Cage also has a 6 month durability guarantee.

I was a die hard BFII user for a couple years, and I am very loyal to that shoe. I thought the BF3 was OK, but fit and felt like a different shoe (not like it's predecessor at all). To me, the Cage brings back all of the great things about the BFII, but is easier to put on (and accomodate ankle braces), has a more durable outsole (with the XDR rubber formula), and is a slighly cooler looking design (personal preference). Overall, IMHO, the Cage is just a better version of the BFII.

I like the cosmetics of the Breathe II's, but other than looks I feel that the arch support of the Cage's is completely minimal. The BFII's have alot better arch support; this means all the difference because the Cage's made my feet hurt, even after 2 months. I have decided to go back to the II's.

The Breathe Cage's have a more durable outsole and were easier to get on, but the upper was much less durable for me than the II's. I tore through the mesh vents in the Cages since they were not reinforced with a mesh, rather they had long strips of ventilation. I had socks and inner sticking out of my shoe and looked like a bum. The outsole lasted though so I just kept looking like a bum.

well i went to the store, and my dad didnt like the nike ones. Also, i am not getting the shoes for now so i cannot use the 6 month durbaility guarantee. So durability was an issue.I am going to use the shoes in the future. I have a pair of Barricade IV's already. But the yonex shoes fit really nice and snug. They are really comfortable and padded.

I dislike the cages so much. Just go with the breathe free II's. They are the best shoes ever made.

They have horrible arch support, and are a little heavier but that makes them a little more durable too. Depends on what you want in your shoe.

Cage for some reason dug into top of my feet, making it hard to even walk. Couple of other people had similar experiences.

BF2 doesn't hurt my feet.

I'm looking for a pair of BFIIs. I saw them at a sporting goods store for 80 bucks! I know they can be found for much cheaper, but where? Any suggestions?

I have both and I like the Cage better. They are more comfortable to me, offer better lateral support and more cushion.

I've worn both Cages and Breathe Free II. I also found that the Cages have better cushioning – and significantly better lateral support due to the extended outer edge of the forefoot.

Good point; your ankles are probably saved by the Cages because they are deliberately designed with wider outsoles at the forefoot edges.

no doubt breathe free II.. hopefully they SMU the suckker forever

tried the cages and they are STIFF. not very comfortable, def not as breathable. cushion is the same (AIR MAX) . just not a comfortable wearing shoe. seems that even TW agrees with their review of both. the BFII scored quite a bit better than the cages...

i dont know why manufacturers take a great shoe and discontinue it and make it a worse shoe for the next generation... that happens alot... after a great shoe,,, the next generation of the shoe is worse....

happened with the Barricades tooo... Baricade II was a great shoe(still being made) then they came out with Barricade III which was inferior in most minds....
then they come out with the IV's (a much better shoe) i almost expect the next version V too be a worse shoe than the IVs

after a great shoe comes an inferior one (kinda reflects life i think )

I am a die hard BFII fan. I have tried Barricade 2,3,4, KSwiss, Wilson opens, Vapors, Babalot (red and black ones) and Cages. The Cages are only slightly less comfortable than the BFII and the Bab are decent too. The rest are just crap with the Wilson's being the worst of the bunch. The BFII is light, cool, cushioned, supportive and durability isn't too bad either. I have accumulated about 6 pair of these that are sitting in a closet and I'll continue to buy them when I find them for good deals (less than $70) and hide them away.

BFII's are my current faves. Snug fit, comfortable, light, breathable, stable.

the two shoes are pretty similar in terms of build. the only thing is that the drag-on the cages can bend into your foot though, but you get used to it pretty fast.

I actually like both (at least the Cage I's). The Cage II's are a little stiff for me even after breaking them in.

I'm currently rotating two sneakers now...the Breathe Free II and the Cage I.

They're both comfortable, stable and durable. I play a good deal on clay so that may help my durability.

Just a quick question:
If I wear size 9.5 in the Breathe Free II's, should I go with a 9.5 in the Cage I's or should I get a size 10? I've heard that for some people, the Cages were too tight in the forefoot and that they had to order half a size up.

My advice is to stick to the same size for BFII's and Cage I's.

I agree with BreakPoint. I have a wide foot and concurrently wear the same size in both Breathe Free II and Cage I.

sometimes the drag-on stuff on the cages will bend into your foot and hurt, but you soon get used to it IMO. cages all the way.

in terms of cage I and cage II, cage I cause the leather on the cage II digs into the tendons and ligaments in my angle, harder to change direction.
