You can just use the leather lace from a baseball glove. Most of the time, leather is just leather. Hope this helps.

Hi leelord,

You can create your own as alpine suggested. If you want to buy them instead, you can get them online. Just do a google search on a stringers website.

Do they work? If you're looking for it to give you power, the answer is no. If you're looking for it to lessen the sharp turns on certain holes when stringing the racquet and prevent premature breakage, then the answer is yes.

Thanks,
eagle

Agreed. The name is a misnomer. They will not change the power of the racquet...they are a practical accessory to be added usually at the stringer's discression, and are useful for frames that have sharp turns, such as the side of the throat in many Babolat frames. This is especially useful with gut and other strings that are prone to breakage when kinked.

If you have trouble finding them at a stringer's supply vendor, then you can make them from old leather grips among other things.

You can use baseball mitt lacing, but then again, the poster asked where to get leather pads. After all, not all leather is created equal. Search the Web for "power pad leather".

Go to a leather store and buy scrap pieces of leather (really cheap) and cut them out yourself.
