I've had these shoes for a few months now, but didn't end up putting very much wear on them. They're leaving my rotation soon, and here's why...
Fit:
I wore Reebok MDP's prior, and wanted a lighter, performance-oriented fit. I have an almost-2E foot, flat arches. This is marketed as a medium-narrow width shoe, but it was comfortable and snug in the shop. When it wore in, it felt even better. It has a bit of an artificial, synthetic feel, but I've become used to the chunky Match Day's.
So they felt good, standing and during practice. My shoes get a lot of basketball duty as well, and unfortunately, the Glaciators couldn't maintain their comfort during basketball or competitive tennis. The shoe pinched my foot all around the heel and under the balls of the foot. Altering sock thickness didn't help.
Performance:
They're light, breathable, feel nice standing around in court. I rely on foot speed and quickness on [both] courts, and they're an improvement over the MDP's in that aspect. As for traction, this shoe had me puzzled. On the hardwood, I had no problem making hard cuts, and on the hard courts, I could move confidently, for the most part. However, I experienced some very 'random' slipping; I would be approaching the net, or covering the corner of the baseline, and the shoes would suddenly give out on me. It was a very odd experience with the Glaciator, and my familiar hitting partners were fairly surprised that I had trouble with slipping.
Durability:
Wore evenly. I didn't worry about the durability, but I didn't put very many hours on it, either. I did tear part of the uppers, but only the outer layer, which was a bit unusual, considering the shoes were fairly lightly used.
I bought the shoe on recommendation of the local proshop owner. The Glaciator sells well in his shop and several of my hitting partners wear it and have no problems. I couldn't deal with the pinching and discomfort and was a bit apprehensive about the slipping, so I have a couple more pairs of Reeboks in the post. The Match Day is simply the most comfortable and confident shoe I've ever worn (never mind the weight or breathability issues).
