What's your favorite? I think my top pick would be "Home Alone". Honorable mention to Die Hard as well. :)

A Christmas Story is #1, and not far behind are all of the Christmas claymation movies.

How can you not have A Christmas Story in the poll? That is such a classic that TBS runs that for 24 hrs straight every Christmas.

I really apologize, there were too many to name, both good and bad. I wanted to kinda have classics to modern, and I only had 9 spaces.

Good enough. Cool thread, by the way. :) Threads like this are helping put me in the holiday mood.

The Ref. Quite possibly the funniest holiday movie I've ever seen.

Animation aside (I can't go through the season without watching my Grinch and Mole), as well as the Rockefeller tree lighting special (what was up with Celine Dion this year?) I would have to say:

It's a Wonderful Life (vote choice in poll)
Scrooge (1951 with Alastair Sim)
Miracle on 34th Street (original)
Christmas Vacation

I do everything humanly possible to avoid that horrible little whining boy who wants a red ryder BB gun. Uggh!

Don't forget the instant classic, Surviving Christmas.

Agreed. Other non-traditional movies are Mixed Nuts, The Holiday and Promised Land.

A Christmas Story!!!

And the book is better...and even better than *that* book, is another by the same author that centers around that same family.

A Christmas Story! I watch it at least a couple of times a year and still get a laugh out of it.

I saw a great one recently called 'Remember the Night' with Barbara Stanwyck & Fred MacMurray.

Its odd that its not more well-known.

"Hey. If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, d!ckless, hopeless, heartless, fat-***, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey ***** he is. Hallelujah. Holy *****. Where's the Tylenol?"

Christmas Vacation. I absolutely love this movie. I have seen it dozens of times and every single time I see it I still laugh!

Another vote for "Love Actually." We always make it a point to watch it at least once during the holiday season. Great casting and wonderful character development. Funny as hell, too.

Alle Jahre Wieder is a movie I remember from being a child. Maybe it's the good times I remember more but it was really the best.

Nobody has mentioned a Christmas Carol (Scrooge, Tiny Tim, etc). Unless that "Scrooged" movie is another version, since there are many. Doesnt anyone like that?

Thanks to who mentioned The Ref. I hadnt thought of that movie in a while, and I found that movie to be extremely funny as well.
