Came across this article (http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20071210&fname=Film+%28F%29&sid=1) in a magazine (http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20071210&fname=Film+(F)&sid=1 (http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20071210&fname=Film+%28F%29&sid=1)) . Its about a movie called The Aquarius Gospel.
Talks of Jesus visiting Kashmir during his early years and being influenced by Buddhism and Hinduism. Appa, his life there is recorded in some documents that still exist in the Ladakh region.

Is this just sensationalism? What do others think about his early years?
I thought this articl (http://www.outlookindia.com/full.asp?fodname=20071210&fname=Film+%28F%29&sid=1)e might be of interest to others since there's a lot of hot debate on this topic on other threads.

Added later:
I am sorry for the misleading title - it is taken from the article. I did not mean to suggest that Jesus lived someplace, or belonged to any race or country.
The movie is about Jesus having spent some time in India based on some questionable records.

I think that article is a little far fetched on its interpretation of Luke 2:52.

While the Bible is vague on his early life, not every gospel on the subject can be trusted. The "lost gospel of thomas" claims that Jesus struck down and killed anyone who got in his way or bumped into him. If all the "lost gospels" were true, Jesus' early years would have lasted around 100 years (going by travel accounts, distances, etc).

Could Jesus have visited Kashmir? its possible, and makes for an interesting story. However, you cannot openly trust every ancient text simply because it mentions Jesus.

Interesting find though.

Well, duh? If someone says it on the Internet, then it MUST have happened, right? There is also a group of people who believe that Jesus came to a town in northern Japan where he spent the last part of his life and was buried. Must be true. It simply must!

I think they're getting Jesus confused with John Lennon.

I actually found the article, not on the internet, but in a magazine in a waiting area.
I located the article to link it.

No, being on the net does not make it true :-)

The article is about a movie, and i know you can't trust everything that comes out as a movie or book (Da Vinci Code, haha), but just thought it might be of some interest.

Anyway, from the above comments I take it the movie is not worth following up on or ordering .

^^^ john lennon -- haha. Actually, they could be confusing him with Richard Gere, who has been doing the Tibetan Buddhist thing and is close to the Dalai Lama !

Hey, see the movie if the subject interests you. It's a movie, after all, so if you're looking for entertainment, go for it. If you're looking for something that would document some absurd notion like this, then you may be disappointed...or not.

Who is Felipe Alou's brother?

Nah, that was Moses. He, like, parted the seas so that the Expos could trade him or something.

Could be. That could hold true in ECUADOR TOO.

Yes, if Kashmir is located within present-day Israel, then Jesus lived there...:)

Jesus lived in Dallas and drove a Chevy. I've got old newspaper cut-outs.

no thanks, his autobiography, AOY is a joke, and one of his big followers Kriyananda has several criminal cases against him in US and italy and has finally settled quite near me (same city) and is living out his days.
