ok so i entered in a tournament...i am boys 16s singles playing satellite tourneys... and on ssunday Dec. 9, i was scheduled to play and i also had a BYE so i automatically went to round of 16s..and i was schedueled to play at 3..so my dad drove me about 2 hrs to the tournament site and when i got there they told me that the 2 people before me that were supposed to play each other (i was supposed to play the winner) they both didnt show up to the tournament so the people at the tournament site told me they were sorry and that they hoped we didnt drive to far..which we did.. they sent us back telling me that im automatically into the quarterfinals.... so i go back home couple hours later i checked the usta site and it says im playing one of the people that got DQ'd this coming saturday AND if i win i have to play again that evening..... can someone tell me if i should tell the tournament directors or just ignore it and not complain?????

Where you saposed to play Dennis Druzhinsky from Eastern boys 14s. For amazement gotta see his record. Lotta kids drive out for hours and find no match. The USTA seems to sanction this kinda behavor.

Sounds like you got trapped in what was supposed to be a double default, then the tourney director realized they might have mad a mistake by not having one of the kids show up for your match so they rescheduled it. Unfortunately tournament directors "own" the tourney's and are free to do what they want within the rules of the USTA.

what the heck is the big deal w/ dennis druznicrap and why are you so obsessed with him? It seems kind of weird that you mention his name every other post (or more).

Edit: He's not even that good, ranked 260 in Eastern B14s with a 4-14 record. more info on him here http://tennislink.usta.com/Tournaments/Rankings/PlayerRecords.aspx?id=385416&p=2165

Trying to encourage the USTA Eastern Metro to change the regulations to discourage players from the kinda cheating that is going on. Many people have talked with them about this directly but no changes. Not sure it is actually cheating cauze there are no rules forbiding it. Lots of kids do it but that one kid is the most glaring one and there is always lotta talk about him so it is not a secret or private. Kidz sign up for tons of tournaments and intend to play only the ones that will help their rank. They figure it out after the draw is up. They lose the entry fee of 40 but save on hotel and travel charges. Seems like no biggie except if you had to miss Friday school and book hotel and not have a match. The other player does get points but that adds to the problem cauze the ranking get messed up when it happens so often
