What is the status with these racquets? Are you going to be ordering any new batches?

Are you guys really sold out of all them? I was looking to buy 2-3 in a 4 1/2 grip and I read awhile back that the new shipment was due in january, and now it looks like the story has changed.

Just curious, and i'm sure more are too.

Thanks.

TW any updates? there seems to be a lot of confusion over this.

If there wont be another shipment, then i am going to be forced to switch to a new racket, as i need a 3rd. Please let us know.

Unfortunately, at this point in time, Wilson has decided to discontinue the Pro Staff 6.0 line. If there is any change, I will post and let everyone know. But as of now, there will be no more coming in.

its pretty hard to find 5/8 grip size, and also i do not like buying rackets without spec matching.

Even if you have a list of committed customers or paying for the racquets in advance?

This is crazy, I need at least two more 6.0 95's and was under the impression that TW was getting more in Feb/Mar. I passed up good deals on the auction site because I wanted brand new sticks. ppfffffttt

I think timing is good for TW to talk to Wilson about an improved, 2nd generation 6.0 95. Keep the materials and box beam, make it a touch heavier/higher swing weight and make it 19MM max/same string pattern. PERFECT. Let's lobby for that. The only rac. out there similar is the Donnay and but I would prefer the stiffer Wilson. I'll buy 3!

This is not our decision. We have communicated to Wilson that both headsizes are still in demand, but no more will be made at this time.

There could have been at least one more shipment in Feb/Mar, since that is the information released late last year. Did Wilson agree to sending out another batch and then back out?

Do you have any contact info for your Wilson Rep? perhaps a petition or something to let them know they have loyal customers that they are knowingly disappointing.

Nike sure listened to us after all the cries for bringing back the Air Oscillates...

TW,

Please, if you can, do something about this. This frame is still in high demand and I had my heart set on buying two more of the 85 version in Feb.

Thanks.

I emailed a guy that was selling the 85's on **** since he looked like a dealer. He said he was out of the 95's, but told me to check back with him in a couple weeks because he should have a new shipment in.

I assume he was bs'ing a bit, but on the part of wishful thinking I was wondering if you guys had heard any news regarding 6.0's?

I'm personally not buying the fact that Wilson would discontinue this right now..as I have said previously I think Wilson is simply letting demand creep back up for these frames. I mean its not like they have a warehouse of these things that they are trying to get rid of.

But the thing is, the demand was always there. It never let up. TW would get a shipment of several hundred of them in about every 3 months and they'd sell out within weeks. That's why they were chronically on backorder.

I do hope they bring it back. It really is an awesome racquet.

So did they totally discontinue the 85 as well?

Good point BP, maybe they have a hidden agenda. Perhaps a cosmetic overhaul and re-release? Thats far fetched I know but it just doesn't make any sense for a major company to take a proven seller off the market does it? I know a lot of people on this board have connections with reps within Wilson and can most likely shed much light on this subject. I, however, can only speculate from the outside. :)

That would be awesome. I wish they would release the PS 6.0 85/95 with the nCode 90/95 paintjob. I know they exist as some pros, college players, and others sponsored by Wilson used them before the K90/95's came out.

A few years ago, TW even sold PS 6.0 85/95's with PS Tour 90/95 paintjobs on them.

It does sound awesome indeed and a bit of a stretch at the same time. BUT why else would they hold it back? Are there any other good reasons?

How much demand is there really? I realize the tennis heads on this forum want these racquets but the general public might not.

As BP noted in his post above; these racquets were constantly selling out on TW.

The only reason I can think of is if they think it eats into their K90 sales significantly (& it probably does). They'll prefer the newer lines in the hands of the skilled recreationals, as each racquet sold also advertizes itself.

Yea I Suppose; Do you really think it would throw off the k90 and n90 sales that badly though?

Not by the numbers, may be, but I'm sure they don't like the hype around the classics & the constant bashing of new models. And sure, I think they'll prefer a skilled player using a K90 instead of the PS85, showing off the new paintjobs around.

stormholloway
02-12-2008, 10:26 PM
Hell, they can release 85s with K paintjobs for all I care... though I'd really prefer they did not.

I just hang around the auction site waiting for old St.V's to pop up.

I'm watching the Sampras/Fed match and it really looks like Pete is using the 6.0 95. Did Wilson temporarily discontinue the racquet to supply pete for the match? lol

He was playing with the 85, never the 95.

He was playing with the 85, never the 95.

It was not the 85, the racquet he used last night had an 16x19 string pattern, the PS 85 was 16x18. More speculative is that the head size looked way too big in relation to Pete, there are lots of pictures of him with an 85 for comparison.

I was referring to the 2001 match, my bad. I would guess he's now playing a 90 (same stick as Fed). I could be wrong (again) though.
