View Full Version : What does it take to start a tennis academy?

My dad is looking at setting up a tennis academy in India.

He wanted to know what it takes to setup one. Basically what is the kind of infrastructure that would be needed in terms of land area, tennis equipment etc.

I know this is a long shot to get such information, nevertheless wanted to give it a try.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

This doesn't answer your question, but I strongly advise working in a tennis academy or making your first hire someone who has managed a tennis academy. My prediction, the infrastructure will be the easiest and least of your problems to solve.
You said he wanted to know what it takes to set one up.
Answer: The right people.

Camilio is spot on, try to get a coaching gig at an academy similar to what your dad wants to open up, so you can get an inside view as to what needs to be done. Of course, don't tell the people at the current academy or you'll be gooooone.
