View Full Version : Favorite long racket ?

By long, I mean 27.5" or 28" in length.

I've played with a few long frames, including the RDTi50 long, IPrestige XL, RDTi70 long, Pro Extreme FT (27.5 ?), Pro RD70 long (28"). Out of all these, the best was the RDTi70 long, followed by the IPrestige XL.

I actually prefer the extended length for serve and groundstrokes, but a couple of the frames felt unwieldy for volleying, such as the Ti50 and Pro RD70 long. 28" is a bit too much length in my opinion.
The IPrestige XL actually played better than the mid.

I'm predicting that Yonex will come out with a long version of the RDX500 as they did with the MP tour1 and I'm looking forward to it.

My favourite would be Prince Chang Graphite longbody OS.

The extra length does take little bit of adjustment on the ball toss and i need slightly better preparation to make sure i'm in the correct hitting position for groundstrokes.

The extra reach provided and the greater angle to service box is a very positive benefit to my game.

I still feel more comfortable serving with standard 27" length racquets.

Ditto what equinox said. In my case, the biggest adjustment was on volleys and at net. The racquet is not a maneuverable on reflex volleys and the extra length can give you the sense of the ball jamming you on shots close to your body.

I think the Fisher is 27.25, which is a great length for me, but to answer the question my favorite was the Yonex Ultimum 1500...until it cracked.

Prince Graphite Longbody....if it were 27" or 27.25" I would have bought three of them by now.

{and no, I wouldn't want to cut one down from 28"}

why not cut the Prince Longbody MP down to 27.5"? I did this and it worked like a charm. Much more useable racquet now, and still retains most of the benefit of the 28"....just don't take it down to 27"....the light head will not be a good match for the shorter length well at all....

POG LB, followed by the Chang and Chang Ti

Fischer Pro Extrem (non-FT), Yonex RD Ti-70 Long (98), Dunlop Revelation Superlong +1.00

Yes, I must agree that POG longbody is by far the best.

However, I still say you should just stick to the standard size one, but that's just me

Prince Graphite Michael Chang Longbody ..... Both OS amd Mid+ are excellent racquet.

Excellent flex ... head light .... great from the baseline, good power and control .. especially on serve.

Provide extra length for volley stretch wide out... but slow to re-act when balls come straight at you, because of the extra length on the racquet.
