I remember that some of the older Babolat racquets had grip sizes which were sized larger than the indicated size. So, a 4 1/2 grip size Pure Drive would be bigger than a 4 1/2 Pro Staff grip size.

Does anyone have experience with the new Cortex versions and if the grip size discrepancy still exists? Thanks.

I Just bough a APDC and they fixed the grip size. Now is pretty much the standard!

i found the grip size to be larger by 1/8th IMO. i just demoed the pure storm control in 4 1/2 and it felt more like my 4 5/8 wilson. and in terms of the Pure drive standard with cortex, i just strung 2 for a buddy and while i did not play with them, in my habd they did seem a little bigger than true.

I have 2 Pure Storm's and they do in fact feel bigger, not sure if they even feel a full size bigger but they are in fact bigger....thats in comparison to Prince

I feel like the actual shape is different also...took some getting used to but I actually like it a lot more than the way my old prince feels

Funny, my APDC felt smaller than my Wilson. I however have a 4 1/4 grip size. So maybe there is a difference when it comes to that size.

thanks.. that's exactly what i was thinking.. the demo that i used was available only in 3/8 and it felt a little large, but not quite 1/2. i appreciate the info..

My tennis guy told me the difference is that Babolats are more rounder grips than the other brands, but still the correct size. I have 1/4 size grips in Babolat and Head and it's the same. It's all in your head everybody :)

I agree that Head racquets do feel smaller than other brands since the grip shape is more rectangular. But Wilson, Prince, and Dunlop are pretty rounded out, like the Babolats.

No darling. It is on your head. The Pure Drives and the AeroProDrives (Cortex and non Cortex) have a 1/16" bigger than standard grip. The old Storms have standard grips.

Babolat still has grips that are 1/2 bigger than normal size standard grip. Even the storms and the cortexes.

Still true? Babolat grip sizes are larger than usual? 1/4 = 3/8?

Whatever they are, I would still buy your usual size.

The Babolats that come from the factory with the thinner Skin Feel grips are closer to "normal" sizing, otherwise, like most have noted, they are still on the generous size IMO.

From my experience, Babolat grips are a bit larger, maybe by 1/8 at the most. The differene is enough that I don't care for 4 1/2 Babolat grip with an overgrip.
