How long did Vitas use his signature wood frame from Snauwert ? Thought the color scheme was a bit " girly " but..oh well ? It was one of the better wood frames of the time if I remember correctly. Anybody have any pics they could share ?

I know Vitas Gerulaitis played with Snauwaert and later on Mikael Pernfors had a graphite one that was colored pink:

No...but thanks for the effort. This would have been the frame that was the standard wood frame with the light blue/pink color scheme.

I thought the Snauwaert Vitas Gerulaitis Autograph was a fantastic racquet. Snauwaert was a great racquet company they made their racquet like Mojo said available in different weights and balances with it engraved on the side of the racquet.

I don't think Vitas used the traditional sized signature edition very long at all. Think he might have only had a year or so before moving on to a Snauwert wood-graphite composite with a larger head size.

Vitas switched to the Snauwaert Gerulitis Auto in 1981, and used it through 1983. In 84 he changed to a mid sized wood comp frame. Prior to 81 he used the Wilson Jack Kramer Autograph.

I was lucky enough to buy a couple of Vitas Autos from TW. The ones I purchased were his personal spec. The grip is almost a 5 and the frames were made thicker through the throat to be stiffer and it's a little heavier than the stock version.
It is a nice frame, both of mine were strung with Pacific Classic by TW when I bought them. They are great hitting frames and represent the last generation of wood frames like the Vilas and Borg Pro which were great hitting frames. I say that even though I couldn't play worth a crap with the Borg Pro...

I think it is available here:
http://www.woodtennis.com/snauwaert/
"Now available is the Gerulaitis Autograph model that was actually customized for Vitas by Warren Bosworth. It has a beefed up head and throat shaft including a larger grip. This racket was never released for public sale and intended for Vitas personal tournament play. Special deal at $249.99."
Try dropping them an e-mail.:)
