I never did understand why someone would spend $55 for a mesh hat with an alligator on it... Andy probably wouldn't even spend that for it!

I like the hat and $55 is not bad considering Andy himself wears it and they want almost $200 on the bay... what a rip...

Is that in euros or usd.

55$ for a hat? most people work for $100 a day and would you work 1/2 a day for a hat?

also...I think the $55 for the roddick hat helps pay for Roddicks 5 year 5 million dollar lacoste deal...come to think of it, thats probably where lacoste got he "5 5" from for the price of the hat

55 is USD... already outrageous enough as it is.

There are two different Lacoste hats Roddick is wearing:

1. The hat with the Lacoste emblem ahead. (Davis Cup vs. Austria)

2. The hat with the Lacoste emblem sideways. (Pörtschach 2007)

what's killing me is the whiners and complainers about $50, I am sure you spend way more on gear etc, and if it is what people want to spend their money on why does it matter? also I have have never understood why people always try to have hobbies/activities that cost a lot to get into, then try to be part of it on a budget... not to sound stuck up or rude, but I am not rich by any means, but if I want it I buy it... life's way too short to cut corners and be cheap... take this how you want, but I do respect your opinions about expensive stuff, just choose not to follow it and buy whatever I like...

(BTW: Andy wore that other hat with the side croc last year...)

Just admit it- you wish you were Roddick. Come on, last week you were trying to find out his exact racquet specs and now your elated that Lacoste has his hat back in stock so you can really look like him. I bet you even wear then ankle braces too when you play tennis- don't you? Most people on this board play tennis as a hobby/ passion, its obvious that your passion is dressing up and pretending to be Roddick. One piece of advice- don't become a jac*a*s like Roddick!

Why would you say this? The person probably thinks of Andy Roddick as his role model and wants to play like him. What's so bad about that? As a kid didn't you want to be like somebody?

And you don't wish you were Roddick? Getting millions of dollars for playing tennis and having a 150 mph serve? Not to mention all the babes you can get. I sure wish I was Andy Roddick.

While I do think that as long as people earn their money they can, legally, do with it as the please. However, my opinion is that if you buy Lacoste clothing at such prices then you are an idiot. $55 for a stupid hat, a $25 hat is pushing it more than enough. You can buy nearly thee Adidas hats for that price.

Yeah- Agassi was my role model, that doesn't mean I went out and bought everything he had. I had a Radical Oversize back in the day but didn't go as far as to use the exact string at the exact tension with the exact rubberband size for a dampener.

In any event, sorry King of Clay- I probably was a bit harsh. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings.

not at all... and NO I havent tried the ankle braces yet but I might...:) as for wanting to be Roddick, well why not? he has got it made and all...:) but I have been wearing Lacoste shirts way back before Roddick was signed by them, and it didn't hurt when I saw him wearing Lacoste stuff... I like the hat, so much that I bought one of each color... I really do respect people not wanting to spend $55+ for a hat/cap, but I know they will buy things they like for more than I would pay... I know I will never be Andy, or play like him, but I can at least play with and wear what he does... what's wrong with that??? as for being a jackass like him??? well actually I am at times... and by the looks of it a lot of members on this board are as well...

I didn't buy his racquet. I bought the racquet they slapped his name on. I use that racquet because I wanted a racquet that was all about performance. It's nothing personal, but I still think you're stupid for it. gain, nothing personal. If you were to take another look at my first post, the "idiocy" claim was because of the price, supposed fanboyism has nothing to due with it. You may be projecting a bit there. But hey, I'm stupid for a lot of things. If you were to look at my personal life you'd either laugh your ass off or cry.

Where you shop is none of our business. I was just saying that SF was talking about a hat and all of a sudden you talked about his racket. Nevermind, go ahead buy your gears and look like Roddick. BTW, Lacoste might be a bit pricier but not the sharpest look out there. Personal opinion of course. Roddick might be wearing more expensive clothes but he still looks boring.

I think Andy's baggy clothes look cool... well that's just me... and imho the Lacoste Tennis Roddick LIne is some of the best out there... I can't stand Nadal's funky Nike stuff, and some of Fed's stuff isn't much better!!! and what's funny all the cool Fed stuff isn't availiable to the public... go figure... at least Lacoste sells what their players actually wear...

You know why someone spends $55 for a hat?

Because they can, and they want it.

Nuff said.

You want the hat, you have the money, you buy it.

Some people may say it is a waste to spend. 5K on a Rolex, 10K on a plasma, 60K on a BMW.

You know why people spend the money?

Because they have it, and they want the nice stuff.

If you don't have the money, or you don't want the hat, then don't F'ing buy it.

Don't call it a waste.

What isn't a waste?

Living in a destitute third world country wearing a loincloth?

You wan't Lacoste, buy it, you want Nike, buy it, you want Target brand, buy it.

I don't like Roddick but he looks like one of the cleaner players on tour. I think you and a couple others are now just finding any way you can to bash the OP. Hey, if you've never bought a $55 dollar hat of $200 dollar jeans, how can you even comment? He makes his money and he spends it how he wants. Similarly for the thread: don't like it, don't read it.

Ridiculous and arrogance. Visit a country like that as I have and then talk about stuff like this.

I did not mean to appear arrogant, but yes the example was meant to be ridiculous. I find that many people on these boards say that anyone who spends more than they do on X item is wasteful. And unless you are Bill Gates, or you are completely destitute without a single material posession, then there will always be people with more or less than you.

So different people will do different things. Just like driving on the highway, everyone drives at different speeds, and everyone thinks that their speed is the proper speed to be traveling, yet for the most part, there will be people driving faster than you and slower than you. The slow drivers say that the fast drivers are foolish and reckless, the fast drivers say that the slow drivers are incapable and inconsiderate.

I do not see why you say that I need to visit a country like that to be able to cite one as an example.

If we were talking about temperature and lots of people were saying that a certain local was too hot, and I wanted to use a very cold place as an example and said something to the effect of "Well what isn't too hot? Antartica?" to highlight my point of view that everyone has differing opinions of the ideal temperature to live in. You wouldn't claim that I was being arrogant? Would you? Ridiculous possibly, but not arrogant, and you certainly would not say that I needed to have visited Antartica in order to talk of such things.

A Hat Protects Your Head From The Sun If It Is Too Hot, If It Is Hot You Should Wear The Hat, If It Is Not Then There Is No Reason To Wear It Unless You Favour An Absolute Shiny Bald Head Over One With Hair.
