can someone explain this statement a little better.---when stringing staggered string racquets, it is important to lock in the top cross with a hard weave. otherwise, the outer mains and the crosses will be floating, causing excessive vibration and not achieving their desired effect.---
i just can't get a clear picture of what's being said.

Well. On the first cross, you have an option. The mains are staggered up and down. You could weave the cross over the mains that are up and under the mains that are down OR under the mains that are up and over the mains that are down. The first is a hard weave. The second, a soft. The hard weave is what you want, it locks in the cross. If you do a soft weave on the first cross, the cross will hardly be touching any of the mains, making it useless, and a nuisance.
