Tennis experts,
Which year was Luxilon first released? Which string models were released?

As an addendum, when was Poly Polar first released? IIRC, Poly Polar was one of the earliest co-polymer strings. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Thanks!

The research goes along a long way, at the end of the 80's Luxilon started to develop strings cos they wanne make something stronger and strings who dont move and dont wear out like gut, at the beginning of the 90's (big banger is patented in 1989) the first strings came, big banger original 1.36mm, shortly after the alu power, in 1997 they signed up Guga and Belgian Dewulf (after a serious fire in the company) and it was a succes after that, more and more followed... In 1999 only 9 Top players played Luxilon, in 2003 nearly 62.

The company is located in Wijnegem near Antwerp, Belgium.

Just had to ericsson's great summary. Sometime between 2005 and 2007 (I can't remember) Wilson purchased Luxilon.

Actually, I was under the impression that Wilson just became Luxilon's distributor for their tennis strings. Luxilon makes material and strings for other purposes including medical.

Quite Right, US distribution rights.

Before Wilson, FORTEN distributed Luxilon. I remember emailing them early on and it took a month for them to respond. I took that as a bad omen.
