the rd ti-50 hits very nice, great spin, low powered, idk what exactly to tell you, if u want ask me more specific questions then ill anwser them, but in the future i may be selling off one of these because i have too many racquets and they keep on coming

I think I have somewhat of an idea of how they might hit. I have experimented with a shortened rd ti-70 long with good success. The only problem I have with the racket is the flex you can feel in the middle of the stroke. I added extensive amounts of lead to the hoop of the 70 because it was so head light stock. It plays quite well.

It can be unnerving to feel the racket giving like that in the throat. I have experienced it before with the C10 pro, but not this extent.

Does the RD ti-50 have the same type of flex in the throat?

i didnt really find much flex for me in the throat it was mainly around the head i felt the most flex, all my shots were very mushy with this racquet, but it was with great power and spin

I know a place where I can get a few of these new, I may give it a shot for fun.

yeah, the ti-70 produced a lot of flex for me, The added mass in the hoop may have contributed to that feel. I didn't feel it prior to adding lead.

LanEvo
03-03-2008, 08:24 PM
yea thats true actually of my two one of them has 4 grams of lead at the 3 and 9 and the one with lead took away some of that flex around the head, i still use these ocassionally, but my sis enjoys the one with lead and i can never figure out how she can handle a 12oz racquet like this, when shes only 14

Well, quite different sticks they are. The 001MP is more control focused while the Rqis2 has a lot more power and spin due to the extra 0.5" length. I actually put 20grams worth of lead tapes on the handle of Rqis2 to make it more headlight (stock was too evenly balanced for my liking), currently at 6pts HL and 328g. Stock 001MP is 8pts HL and 330g and similar swing weight of around 325. Based on specs alone they are quite close right now but the Rqis2 is still more poweful and produces a lot more spin.

Hope that helps.

Well I replaced the original Yonex grip with a Wilson Truegrip. That made the racquet a little heavier and more headlight. To compensate for the balance change, I added about 4-5 grams total at 3 & 9. I also had a problem with hitting too high on the stringbed. That's why I added lead at 3 & 9 to shift the sweetspot up a little bit.

It's a combo of Pro Supex Big Ace and Prince Synthetic Gut w/ Duraflex.

MP Tour 1 98 definitely offers more power and crispier feel compared to RD7. I prefer playing the MP tour 1 than the RD7.
I have not played with the RDS001 MP; I play the RDS001 mid size. Based on specs, the MP tour 1 is almost identical (that is why I did not get the 001 MP) and offers a little more flex compared to the RDS MP.

I too have the RDiS and it's a beautiful racquets that plays great. It's solid, maneuverable, and has both good power and control. I'd recommend that people demo it.

Hi Wilfreb,

I own the RDS 003 and I am thinking of buying the 2008 RDS 003. Is there any difference between the 2 besides the paintjob?

Thanks.

I prefer the '07 paint job myself

I prefer the '07 paint job myself

I am from Singapore and we only have the '07 paintjob for the 003. Most shops are not selling it anymore and I have to get it from Yonex Singapore straight (Which is significantly more expensive). I like the racket and thinking of getting another one.

I prefer more red too actually, just that 08 is not available here and its different.
