I would like to replace my Head MG MP with a leather grip and add weight at the 12 o'clock position because I want to increase the swingweight (and power).

I didn't customize my frames before so I have a few questions about this.
For example about which leather grip I should choose out of the following:

Babolat Natural Grip 2.00 mm
Wilson Premium Leather 2.00 mm
Pacific Leather Grip 1.5 mm

Which one is the most comfortable one?
My first impression is choosing the Wilson because it is the most expensive one so I guess it will be of a good quality. Too, I prefer Wilson over Babolat as a brand. I don't know why. Just a matter of taste (but maybe Babolat is much more comfortable for me).

I would also like to know the weights of each of these grips and of the original Head hydrosorb grip as well because I need to know the difference.

Can anyone advice me?

Between the wilson and babolat...I like the babolat. Babolat is not as firm/stiff. Never tried the Pacific.

Tennis Warehouse's leather grips are really nice too.

What do leather grips do besides make the racquet more head light?

The Tennis-Warehouse Leather grips are much better than the Babolat or Wilson leather grips. The Tennis-Warehouse leather grips remind me of the old Balmforth Leather grips that were the best grips available.

Leather grips (with overgrips) have the following advantages against synthetic ones:
Better feedback because of the good vibrations that come from ball contact. Syntethic grips are much more cushioned because they dampen many vibrations;
Better ball feel tells you how well you hit the shot;
You can feel the bevels more prominently with a leather grip that enables you to distinguish your different grips better (for example eastern fh, continental, etc);
More actual grip size due to the more emphasized bevels.

i liked the gamma. but overgrips over leather grips arent for everyone. it can be quite harsh.

I'll throw in another vote for TW leather. I have it on all of my PDR's.

Does anyone know the weight of Babolat Natural Grip?
Somewhere on this forum I read it is about 25 grams and somebody else claimed it is 15 grams. Who can confirm this is true?

That's the way I see it now as well. Had used Babolat leather on everything until I tried the TW leather, I'm sold. I do overwrap with supergrap.

Vantage leather...

Nick

Nick, how thick are the Vantage grips? Any other grip you would compare it to?

Head Calf Skin, but those are expensive and hard to come by. I would recommend Wilson leather grips.

Vantage. It's suede like and has tons of tack.

Thank you all for joining this poll.

I finally decided to buy Babolat Natural Grip. This week I 'll receive my new Head MGMP. Then I 'll customize it by replacing the Hydrosorb with Babolat leather and adding 3 grams of lead at 12 o'clock position.

I 'm very curious how it will play. :)
