View Full Version : Good strings for the Dunlop AeroGel 200?

I'm basically an all-courter. Looking for poly strings, with overall great playability. Looking for something crisp and something with good feel, and something that I can whack at the ball with and still have it drop in with good depth/spin/control. Stiffness isn't an issue.

Anything will be appreciated!

i highly recomend cyberflashes, alu rough or power

If you want feel, you'll probably want a softer poly. If you want playability, you'll want to get them in a thinner gauge. There are plenty of good polys out there that are soft and come in a thin gauge, so just experiment with some.

I'm using Pro Supex Big Ace now and it's supposed to be pretty soft for a poly, and it comes in gauges 16-19. I think it would be a good place to start your quest :)

Yea, actually I've tried Big Ace already and I loved it. Looking for some other strings to try out and if I still like Big ace the best I'm going to buy it in a reel. But this is just my trial period time, and I'm looking for the right stuff to put in my racquet, and just looking for some suggestions.

Cyberflash is supposed to be pretty stiff. Wouldn't this mean less feel? Maybe Cyberpower instead. It's softer.

I really feel great with gut mains and hurricane crosses in my aerogel 200s. Full disclosure, I have other frames, too, and I use that combination in all of them.

Cyberflash is one of those wierd strings that can go either way depending on the user. I personally think that it's the perfect string all-round (tension maintenence doesn't matter as I'll break them long before they lose tension), and it has really good feel for a poly. I like Cyberpower, and it played better then Cyberflash for an hour, but that was about one hour of good play compared to the 5-6 hours I get out of Cyberflash.

To In)SpiRe: If you are a decent string breaker, go with Cyberflash, but if you don't tend to break polys, then go with Cyberpower. I use the M-fil 200, and we play similar style games from your description, so I hope this helps!

Thanks for the correction. I have never used either personally, just trying to apply what I've read to the situation :)

Is there really a big difference in playability between the ALU power and the rough?

Hey guys, I'm just curious if yall did any hybrids that worked out really well.

I'm using Cyberpower/Pro Supex Spiral Flex combo in my aerogel 200 now. It's very soft. Doesnt feel like poly at all. But i think i can use some more spin, this combo gives you great feel and very forgiving to your arms. Next time i string i will try the cyberflash combo with something else.

I'm using Blue Gear 1.25/Spiral Flex 1.30 in my Aerogel 200 and feel that it has a nice amount of control, spin and power.

I strung mine up at 58/60, bearing in mind that the mid tension is 60.
