Can anyone explain to me what the 'si' and 'Mid size 85' actually means?

Also when a Pro Staff has sybol next to the writing on the shaft is that unusual? What is its significance?

si stands for Swing speed Index. Players with a slow swing speed play better with a low si racket, on the others, players with high swing speed play better with a high si racket. So advance players usually use high si racquets like the 6.1 or 6.0 pro staff, and beginners use 2.7 or 3.3 si racquets.

R is for copyright and TM is trademark.

"Mid Size 85" means that the racket head is measured to be 85 square inches. Midsize rackets have racket heads that measure between 80-93 square inches.

Disregard the "circle r" as an indicator of performance, playability, etc. It is a designation that the associated trademark is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
