Hi All,
I bought an RDX 500HD, RDS 002 Tour and and RDX 500 mid based on the great reviews I read. However I seem to cant find the right monofil string or tension to get them to stop feeling "boardy". I have a touch of TE etc so I am staying away from ploy's and gut is a bit expensive to use at this stage when Im still tinkering with tension etc.
Thanks is advance for your help as Im about at wits end with them

I have multiple RDX500 Mid's and RDX500 MP's. All are strung with Babolat VS Gut 17 in the mains at 56lbs and Topspin Cyber Flash 17 in the crosses at 52lbs. I really, really like this string set up (for now).

Yonex RD TI-70: 18x20, 98 sq. inches
I string full cyberflash at 55...so far it feels pretty good.

57/55 lbs seems to be the winning combo for both the RDX500 MP and the RDS001 MP. Feels boardy, but I love it.
I seriously recommend you try Head Ultra Tour string at 61 lbs in your RDX500. That's my new wow string.

I had NXT at 62lb when I bought it. It felt crisp then but now that it's starting to fray, it's kinda mushy.

I use blue gear mains at 55lbs with titan x's at 56 in my RDX 500 mid. works really well.

No experience with the RDX 500's, but I'd expect them to match up well for me with some lively mutifiber since those frames are pretty soft.
I've had a pair of RDS 002 Tours and one that came to me strung with Yonex 850 multi at moderate tension was too much of a slingshot, but the other came in strung with 16 ga PSGD and felt pretty clunky. Never really had any luck with that Duraflex, but I think that Prince's original syn. gut delivers great bang for the buck.
I keep reels of LaserFibre LaserLite XL - a decent 17 ga syn. gut - and this was very good for me in that Yonex at 62# mains/60# crosses. I didn't stick with this frame (way too many others in my stash), but if I experimented with any more setups, I may have tried a multifiber mains/soft syn gut crosses hybrid at the same tensions or a pound or two tighter. Really nice bite on the ball with that 17 ga string for me in the 002 T.
