View Full Version : Words to ban

YULitle
03-13-2008, 02:48 PM
This is my letter to the moderators. I think this forum and it's constituents would all benefit from the banning of the following two words. Why not, when words like **** and ********* and ******** are all masked, why not these?

best
better

This, of course, is in jest. But seriously, I have a dream *ahem* that one day, tennis players will understand that there is no miracle racquet, no golden string and no game-saving tension that is best or better than any other. Banning these words won't help this day come, but it will certainly help keep my blood pressure down. ;):):D

nickb

But who would post if those 2 words were banned...the forum would cease to exist :)

My threads are BETTER than yours.

Doc Hollidae
03-13-2008, 03:01 PM
Doc: Whoa. Whoa. Why the ****? Why in front of TTW? All ya gotta do is say "earmuffs" and you can say "****, *********, ********."

YULitle: ****. Balls.

YULitle
03-13-2008, 03:08 PM
Doc: *something*

YULitle: I don't get it....

:D

PROTENNIS63
03-13-2008, 03:09 PM
then the trolls from the general pro player forum won't be able to say Nadal is better than Fed or vice versa. Every post in that forum would be ****

Doc Hollidae

Doc: *something*

YULitle: I don't get it....

:D

It was a supposed to be a modified quote from the movie Old School. However the four letter words that rhyme with duck, mitt, and mock seem to be censored. =P

Beanie: Whoa. Whoa. Why the F-ing? Why in front of the kid? All ya gotta do is say "earmuffs" to him, and you can say "****, ****, *****."
Frank: ****. Balls.

YULitle
03-13-2008, 03:12 PM
Oh, it's been a while since I've seen that movie. I don't remember much. Just the tranquilizer dart scene.

They should also ban people for making crap threads:)

Mods need to ban:

YULitle - Making crap threads
Nickb - Causing too many wars with pro tour

YULitle
03-13-2008, 03:17 PM
:D Someone had to say something that wasn't the typical, "what's a good (string, racquet, tension, setup) for a (beginner, baseliner, serve and volleyer, old guy coming back, tennis elbow sufferer, woman, child)?"

Hahahahha. These are my favorite. "Someone tell me what racquet to get, and what type of string and tension. I am a beginner, but I want lots of control AND power. I also need a string that will last until I re-string it, a year from now. Also, I want to be able to play every day for four hours and not get tennis elbow, so keep that in mind. Also, it'd be great if the racquet were blue...

:D

Haha

YULitle I really need some help:

Ive been looking at the K90 as I think it would suit my game down to the ground.

I am looking for a racket with a load of power, that is easy to play with, is very forgiving and has a big sweet spot....what do you think?

It then goes on with you explaining the K90 is for advanced players with long strokes and has no power...I then go out and buy a K90..come back and post it for sale then complain that it gave me tennis elbow!

:)

I want a really un-forgiving racket as im am a pro and with a headsize that would suit my serve and volley game

What do you think: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCGAMMA-GBUBBA.html

YULitle
03-13-2008, 04:41 PM
1012007: perfecto, so long as you string it with Alu Power at 70lbs.

iplaybetter
03-13-2008, 04:43 PM
those are definitely the best words, and i use them better than you

in reality you are right, the thing to do it is find what you like use ti the way you like and get better a racket can help, strings can help but its down to the individual

YULitle
03-13-2008, 07:03 PM
I just found it amusing to hear the same exact things online that I heard in the shop the last four years. My favorite, because almost everyone said it, "what's a good beginner's racquet?"

Right. I definitely have been spending too much time on the computer, as anyone who cared to check could see by what times I post. Basically it's all day from 8am to 10pm. :( But, I've got a hitting partner in town now, and I actually get to play tennis today. :D :D :D

My favorite is, "I'm really playing great with RACKET B, but I want to get a new racket. What do you think I should get?"
or
"I think I've finally found the perfect string setup with STRING L at 55#. What should I string my backup racket with?"

It's like, DUH.

Haha. YULitle, do you post from work or what? And your videos are filmed in the store you string for, right? Forgive me, as I'm not up-to-date on your personal life. Lol.

YULitle
03-14-2008, 02:41 PM
Hahaha. I filmed the majority of my videos while working at my previous employer. Now, I am currently unemployed (though that may change here in a minute) and making videos from home. I used to post while I was at work all the time because it was a slow store. :D

1012007
03-14-2008, 02:43 PM

BTW the amount of time your at home doesnt justify the amount of vids :)

How are you getting along with no job? I'm guessing your wife works.

YULitle
03-14-2008, 02:46 PM
Hahahaha. I know I know. But most of the videos I have to do require some tool or machine that I don't have. I just got my starting clamp today so I can start remaking my ATW videos. :D Some videos I've made and not posted. I'm hesitant to replace videos as the hit-counts go with them. I knot that's childish but it won't last long. I'll get over it and replace them eventually. :D

YULitle
03-14-2008, 02:47 PM

I can't say. But, I will. Could be boring. :D

Nick whats with the change of heart?

My arm cant take using them anymore....when playing I get a pain deep in my arm when using polys..my volleys are crap with them and touch shots are non existent...for my game (s and v..touch shots...doubles) they just dont work.

I will be using syn gut in my playing rackets...(wilson extreme, Toalson TOA, prince syn gut etc) and Wilson NXT Tour in my coaching racket..

Glad you like the racket...

I like the softer more powerful string strung loose for feeding and light hitting...takes less effort!...also to save my arm.

Its luxilon ALU Power...I just remembered that is one of my frames...think it was strung at 57lbs but if I remember right I used it for 4 matches at a tournament so the string has taken a beating!

I really like Prince Synthetic Gut Original and have done for years...if I could get reels at a decent price over here I would use that...right now im using wilson extreme syn gut...not as good but still a nice string.
