Is Yonex the only company that makes their retail racquets {not the stuff for the pros} in a country other than China?

Yes... however Vantage makes there racquets in the UK but the materials/elements come from China.

Note: Only high end Yonex frames are made in Japan e.g.: RDS 001, RDS 002, RQiS Tour-1 etc.

I believe also Mizuno rackets are made in Japan, but they are only available to the public in Asia.

Yonex is pretty much the only one yes. Automatix is right about Vantage, UK assembled, China makes the parts.

What about Taiwan, do any racquet companies make their racquets there?

Vantage is made in China, even if the final assembly is done elsewhere. I'm talking about the raw frames.

Where does Fischer make theirs? The no tolerance line is excellent with great attention to detail!

Fischer makes theirs in China as well. Although a lot of us associate China with poor (or at least worse) quality, that doesn't have to be the case. The manufacturer can set up better quality control (like Fisher) and use better materials, and implement better manufacturing. The Chinese factories are just doing what is ordered.

But, many companies are looking to produce as cheaply as possible (thus, the move to China in the first place) and don't emphasize these things, or at least not as much as they should.
