How would you rate these guys?

Btw, that one-handed backhand is so nice. :)

I'd put 'em at about a 4.5, they look pretty solid.

I would put the guy in the blue at a 5.0. The other guy at a 4.5. I feel as if the blue guy wasn't trying that hard. Amazing form though. Really pretty strokes and phenomenal looking one-handed backhand.

Pretty darn good. That boy in the blue has a beautiful one-handed backhand.

Man the blue guy looks lazy. After he hits a shot he never recovers... Hm..

Wow I'm surprised people are saying 4.5-5.0. I was going to say 3.5 - 4.0. I notice the kid in the blue has some decent strokes, but these players don't look all that sharp to me. They are both hitting some really crappy shots in there and so not every shot is with nice form.

You can't rate a player based on a couple groundstrokes. The blue guy DOES have a 5.0 level backhand though. If I had to take a guess I would say they're solid 4.0s.

The guy in the blue looks like a 5.0 and the opponent like a 4.0 to 4.5. The 4.5 guy has good movement though if he improves on his strokes I think he might give the other guy a better game.

From what I saw from the video, Blue shirt would be a 4.5- for solid strokes, good volley technique and decent serve. Other guy would be 4.0+ imo for still pretty solid strokes, also good volley form and he mostly used kick serve but placed it decently.

The kid in white does not know how to hit a backhand volley. Look at the horrendous backswing at around 8:00

Look, nice a 4 rated on how they swing and also on how they play because they tend to know how to control their shot and where to place it.

Huh? I'm confused by the criticism. I didn't see many crappy shots in their exchanges. No 3.5 player would be able to hit the ball with as much consistancy, depth, spin, and pace that these kids do. They need to work on their volleys (especially the kid in white), but they're certainly good players overall. Based on what I can see from this tape, the kid in the blue looks like a solid 4.5, and the kid in white is a solid 4.0.

Both those kids have nice strokes, much better than the average 4.0. In fact, their strokes look better than some of the 5.0+ players videos posted here.

Watching again, that court is pretty bad! If they played indoors, I guarantee you, some people would up their ratings...

What's weird is that the courts next to them are clay!

Here's another video with the guy in blue (in previous video) with his back facing us.

If someone said to me they are 4.5 based on results, then I would believe it. But they just don't look that sharp to me. I've seen alot of guys with strokes like these who aren't very good.

These guys are solid 4.0's.

Maybe back in 2000 they'd be considered 4.5's but the competition of usta leagues has risen quite a bit. The standards now are just much higher.

These guys just posted some more videos. The guy in the blue shirt grew a lot.

I would say 4.5 to a 5.0 range. That court by the way looks like there are no lines.

That last video posted is a great indication of what practice can do for you.
Im just going by the video dates, but it looks like one of them grew 5 inches in 5 months.

Look more like 4.5's now.
