Hey,
I just got back from the bay area and a friend of mine wanted to play a set, as he had also not played for a couple weeks. I had my camcorder in my bag and set it up to catch some of the action. I am in the white shirt and ended up losing the set 4-6. I was going to upload part 2 as well, but I am past my uploading limit.
Enjoy the vid!

You don't want to perform a shot while running.
For example, on approach shots you hit the ball while running.

On approch shots, yeah, you should try and have your feet set but there are quite a few shots that can (or have to) be hit while you're running.

Well approach shots, you really want to have a set base.

react faster to short balls. a lot of times you let it drop and you hit a low percentage shot.

Yeah what everyone is saying about the short balls and you don't want to take a huge swing when you are running up there.

Run up there, stop, just brush up low to high and place it. Unless ofcourse it floats in and sits up.

I am not trying to bash anyone, but I usually take huge swings because its my style of play and allows me to place a lot more topspin for those short angled crosscourt winners. Unless you were aiming for drop or half vollys.

Alright I almost forgot to post part 2 so here it is now:

I lost the set 4-6, but looking back on it I probably could have won if I could only return my partner's 2nd serves more effectively. When he floats the 2nd serves and gives me sitters I tend to over think the shot and just make errors.

I am going to hit with another friend tomorrow morning and just got a legit tripod so I will have a new video up sometime next week.
