All credit to Roddick for coming up with the big points. He's a great example of the determined professional athlete who keeps chipping away, biding his time, waiting for an opportunity.

That said, I didn't really recognize the Federer I saw during the match replay on comcast. He's got a bit of a gut and is not driving through his shots as smoothly as we expect.

Perhaps it's just a slow start for him. Regardless, Federer is going to have a lot of on-court battles ahead in 2008 and beyond.

cheers

Federer has a gut? I must look like freaking Santa Claus then. Fed looks very thin to me.

You could still be think and have a gut. Haven't you seen a girl who's hot from the back only to find that she has a blob of fat overhanging the waist of her pants??

You're saying Roger has a gut? Maybe you should look at Andy...

that's a creepy comparison. Naturally there are many gorgeous females walking around with nice padding.

I'm talking about the world's #1 male tennis player and the possibility that he is not in the shape he once was.

Just because someone like Federer has fat around his lower abdominal section doesn't make him out of shape. You can be in the greatest shpae in the world and still have an extra layer of fat around the midsection. It just means he has a higher body fat percentage, and there's not really a whole lot you can do to get rid of it, short of liposuction. So to assume he is losing because you think he's out of shape, is wrong. Look at Roddick's lower abdominal area.

LOL - at least Fed does not show it off by wiping his face with the bottom of his shirt all the time . . . LOL!
