Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert will be guests on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Tuesday, April 8th.

The topic of the show is great sports rivalries and theirs was certainly one of the very best in sports history.

I don't know about the credibility of a woman who puts her glamor picture on the cover of her own magazine on every issue; I laugh at the ego of such people!

Navratilova has a magazine?

Funny; I think he was speaking of Oprah.

(Evert does have her magazine.)

I personally don't watch Oprah, but I'll set the DVR to record this particular episode. It'll be nice to see Chris and Martina again.

They both looked great. I had it recorded on my DVR but once I watched it I deleted it as they didn't talk about anything I hadn't already seen or known. They weren't on for the whole show anyway. The 2nd half of the show was about the Rutgers U. women's basketball coach and it was about her book and the whole Don Imus thing.

Ehhh, it was okay. But like that awful book on their rivalry from a couple of years ago, we learned nothing new. Maybe the rivalry has been chronicled as much as humanly possible. But every time I see anything about their rivalry these days, its simply a fluff piece seemingly designed for people who don't know much about it.

They do look great though.

Are you referring to the book "The Rivals"? If you are I actually though it was a pretty good book and a comprehensive look at their rivalry.

For those of us who have followed both women's careers, the book didn't reveal much that we hadn't already known, but it was still a good read.

One the reasons why I hated the book was how dismissive and ignorant the writer was of Martina's and Chris' other rivals. She cheapened their legacy by making it out like the others like BJK, Austin, Mandlikova, and Jaeger were of little or no consequence. I know the book is about them. But she didn't have enough knowledge about the game itself to be credible. It's the only tennis book that I've ever wanted my money back on.

I think it's a fine read for a diehard fan of Martina and Chris, and there's nothing wrong with those fans loving the book. Or for someone that doesn't know that much about the rivalry. Even though I likre them both, I loved womens tennis overall even more. So it didn't have any appeal to me.
