Hope Yonex delays new player rackets:

I'm hoping Yonex doesn't put out any new player models for at least one year since we Yonexites are still getting used to the RDX, and need some serious rock-and-roll time. It takes time to fully exploit the possibilities of a racket like this.

But like clockwork, Yonex will put out another one next year although I can't even begin to speculate what features it will have. The RDX was an evolution of the MP1 so my guess is that the next player model will be quite different.

As I said, Yonex should use the specs of the RDTi70, enlarge it, take out some strings, change the paint job (the red original wasn't bad !). Whatever happens, you can bet it will be a hot item for discussion.

It doesn't matter what Yonex put out, you can stick with your old frame you are comfortable with. Play with one racquest for longer period of time generally would help develope consistent strokes.

Why do people feel that they have to switch rackets when a new racket comes out?

because they see teh pros with the new shinny paintjobs, and in order to be hip and cool, tehy think taht they need them too.

And if they come out with something new and you stick with whatever you use, you can pick them up cheaper, which is always good.

I would love that to happen, because you can buy 4-5 more (of RDX500 mid in this case) with a 30-40% discount price & you will be set for the next 10 years!!
